⸻ Tournament Rules ⸻
In Character Rules:
No Killing. The Grotto is open to everyone. While a painless experience is not guaranteed, no one should fear for their life. Anyone who kills or attempts to kill their opponent will be killed.
All combat at the Siren must be done in the pit and in the pit it stays, no exceptions.
If using ammunition, it must be non-lethal.
You must be in good health to fight. If you show up injured, you will not be fighting. If you refuse healing between rounds, you will not be fighting. If, despite the best efforts of the Siren's healers, you are somehow still injured, you will not be fighting.
Breaking any of the above rules will render you ineligible to participate in the Siren's fights until further notice.
Mechanics:
Players fight in the pit by way of a 15 minute timed match. To win the match, players must do one of the following:
Score three hits on their opponent before the timer runs out.
Have the most hits on their opponent when timer runs out.
Win [Sudden Death] in the event of a tie at the end of the match.
Combat is broken down into a few simple steps:
This event utilizes the /random feature!
Both opponents roll initiative. The highest roll wins and attacks first.
The timer starts with the first emote after initiative is determined.
The attacking player writes their post in a custom emote using /yell. After posting, they roll /random.
The defending player then rolls /random to defend. If the defender rolls higher than the attack, they have successfully avoided damage. A lower roll means they have been struck. In the event of a tie, reroll both attack and defense. Regardless, after determining the result, the defender then posts their response in /yell to show the effect.
In that same response, the defender now becomes the attacker and posts their attack. The defender is now on the offensive and the attacker is defending.
This goes back and forth until a player scores three hits on their opponent or time runs out.
When the timer runs out and neither player has scored three hits on their opponent, the player that scored the most points wins. If it is a tie in points, then the match goes into Sudden Death.
Sudden Death:
When Sudden Death is called, the last 'attack' emote is used as the initiator.
On the referee's mark, both players will roll with the highest roll being the winner.
If the winner was the initial attacker, the loser resolves the emote and concludes the match. If the defender wins the roll, the player emotes a counter that scores the winning blow, thus allowing the other player to respond and conclude the match.
